The lawyers of our Matrimonial Department have established a statewide reputation for excellence in all aspects of divorce and separation guiding our clients in matters involving alimony, child support, custody and parenting time, other support issues, equitable distribution, division of business interests, allocation of retirement assets, tax planning, as well as enforcement or modification of prior orders. Our Family Law specialists represent your rights and explain your interests in preparing or reviewing pre- and post- marital agreements, adoptions and domestic violence. Also, members of our team are highly experienced, respected mediators and arbitrators available to aid resolution outside the courthouse. Our attorneys earned the reputation for delivering individualized, responsive, yet aggressive representation in this most sensitive area of the law. We look for creative resolution, understanding achieving settlements is desirable, but recognize the importance knowing when to seek judicial intervention.
Additionally, the team is supported by the resources of one of New Jersey’s oldest and largest firms, ready to address comprehensive legal needs related to real estate, tax, corporate and other legal areas.
The depth of knowledge of our team is reflected by our lawyers, who have been at the forefront of the development of procedural and substantive family law. They served as the chair of the Supreme Court Family Practice Committee, Chaired the Burlington and Camden County Bar Associations Family Law Committee, the New Jersey Supreme Court Working Group on Matrimonial Early Settlement Programs, and were appointed to the New Jersey State Bar Association’s Family Law Executive Committee. Members served as editors and contributors to the New Jersey Family Lawyer, The New Jersey Law Journal, and the Burlington County Bar Association’s Straight Word. Others have taught or lectured on family law topics for Rutgers Law School-Camden, the annual Judicial College, the NJSBA Institute of Continuing Legal Education and county bar associations. Our dedication to professionalism in the practice of family law is reflected by our attorneys who are founders and elected officers of the Thomas S. Forkin American Family Law Inn of Court, which gathers attorneys and judges from Atlantic to Mercer Counties to promote civility, diligence and proficiency among members of the bench and Bar. Two of our members were honored by the Inn with the prestigious Hon. Joseph N. Nardi, Jr. Award and three served as President of the Inn.
